Vintners Festival
2010 Vintners' Festival Weekend
April 16th - 19th
The annual Santa Barbara County Vintners' Festival Weekend attracted wine lovers from near and far for an opportunity to meet member vintners, taste their wines, and enjoy great food and music over a long spring weekend.
The main event was the Vintners' Festival - a festive outdoor environment at River Park in Lompoc held on Saturday April 17th from 1 to 4pm. The festival featured the wines of the 130+ members of the Association, live and lively music, a silent auction and wine country cuisine by the area’s finest chefs.
The Vintners festival is always a lot of fun, a place where you can meet some of your favorite winemakers face to face. You can taste wine from every producer in the area, large or small. For instance we met up with Christopher Marks (photo), a representative of Westerly Vineyard, a family operation with a lot of local respect.
Some people come here with a specific list of what they want to taste, for instance one man said that he was having a Syrah day. Another mentioned he wanted to taste nothing but whites.
Many travelers also enjoyed the Vintner's Visa, which was a 4 day pass to 13 member wineries.
